It’s my first time to travel in Palawan and lucky enough that my first time was in Coron. Coron is a first class municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines, comprising the eastern half of Busuanga Island, all of Coron Island and about fifty other minor islets stretching as far as Tara Island in the northeast and Canipo Island in the south. Coron is known for having a rich marine life, lush green mountain, rich in flora and fauna, teeming marine life and pristine beaches.
Port of Coron, Palawan, Philippines - ready to explore Coron Island! |
The Port of Coron is the drop point where you can travel around to those beautiful and breathtaking limestone cliffs. If you’re booked for an island hopping, this is the place where your journey to magnificent view will start. It is the access to the stunning Kayangan Cave and Lake, Twin Lagoon, CYC, Coron Island and many more.
Meanwhile, the development of the Port of Coron is a big leap from what it used to be, it has now become a busy and modern port. Though domestic vessels with passengers and conventional cargoes are still handled in this port, it is also a loading point for fish and fish products bound for Manila.
Hotels and food establishments are also available around port’s perimeter. You can also have a great view of Mt. Tapyas that has a more than seven hundred steps. Plus, the Giant Island that seems like having sound sleep.
Location: Latitude 11°59’39”N; Longitude 120°12’33”E (southeast of Busuanga Island near Coron Island).
