I have been exploring foods of different cuisines. It is better to taste to give justice on each kind of food rather than listening to hearsay. I am not fond of Thai food, especially the curry, which the smells really stayed on my wardrobe, even on my hair the first time I ate on a Thai restaurant. But then, that thing, wouldn’t stop me to try and taste more of their cuisines. When we were in Panglao Island, Bohol, there was a Thai Restaurant named ISIS THAI RESTAURANT.
Yes, they served Thai foods and a good thing with this restaurant was that they also served Filipino foods. Therefore, if you are one of the people who cannot take the foul smell of curry, you still have something to eat. Ha-ha.
What we ordered?
Pad Thai |
I love the taste of this Pad Thai. The salty taste of peanut and sweet taste of the sauce really compliments each other's taste and made more inviting on my taste bud. By the way, to those who do not know what Pad Thai is, here is the answer from Mr. Wiki. “Pad Thai or Phat Thai (Thai: ผัดไทย [pʰàt tʰāj], "fried Thai style") is a dish of stir-fried rice noodles with eggs, fish sauce (Thai: น้ำปลา), tamarind juice, red chili pepper, plus any combination of bean sprouts, shrimp, chicken, or tofu, garnished with crushed peanuts, coriander and lime, the juice of which can be added along with Thai condiments. Pad Thai is one of Thailand's national dishes.” (source: here)
Chicken with Lemon Grass |
For some, Lemon grass is use in big pieces for flavoring dishes, but for this Thai recipe, it is heavily bruise so it can be eaten along with the chicken. Both the lemon grass and garlic become darkly caramelized and richly flavored during cooking. I love the chicken that was marinated on a special Thai sauce and the lemon grass which was also eatable.
Mango Shake and Green Mango Shake |
From these foods, well, I think I can now visit Thailand since I already tasted a Thai cuisine that suited on my taste.
Till Next Time,
Aylin
