SM
Supermalls celebrates the month of July with Jeans and SM City Manila dubbed it
with the hashtag #SMManilaJeanology. The invasion of jeans is
clearly being seen at all SM Supermalls. In line with this, SM City Manila conducted
a talk on what to do with your old ugly looking jeans with #SMManilaJeansAmbassador
Shai Lagarde, a stylist, youth speaker, producer, writer, to name a few also
has a fashion blog that caters her passion for Fashion, serves as a style inspiration
to many – Love Chic!
I’ve learned so much
on this event especially on (Do-It-Yourself) DIY-ing my no-more-use jeans that
most of us already throw it away to the bin or keep it on our closet for a long
time. I admit I’m guilty of that especially when I already found myself not good
on it; I look at my jeans as faded and out of trend or it is already lapsed its
shelf life (Ha-ha, thinking of using it for years)! Oh well, I love jeans. It
is part of my everyday life as I found comfort wearing it on my daily living
deals. That’s why most of OOTD posted were having jeans on.
Meanwhile, this
event was attended of Fashion Technology students of TUP and the stage
decorated by beautiful DIY jeans at the background were from iAcademy talented students.
To make this event more interactive, audience were also invited to participate
on DIY challenge prepared by Shai. Creativity and having the wildest
imagination should be your friends on doing this thing. Well, a bit resourceful
is also part of it, like mixing of available resources found in our laundry
area such as bleach, Clorox, dye or anything that would eliminate or add colour
on our stuff depending on our preference.
By DIY, it will turn
your no-life clothes from fad to fab! Your old faded jeans could be look more
punk and stylish by adding some accents like putting beautiful pattern cloth at
the back pocket or in the linings of front pocket or by ripping/cutting it more
and spray some bleaching solution (1/4 bleach with ¾ water mixed in a
container). You can also turn your pants into sexy shorts.
As a fashion icon,
Shai also gives some tips on how to looks classy and stylish, adding
accessories, incorporating blazers, wearing high heels or just by wearing simple
whites with colourful nail polish could do wonders on every outfit.
To add a little fun
and excitement to all shoppers like me, SM City Manila in cooperation of Levi’s,
Jag, Candies, Tribal, and Lee Pipes and among other participating outlet is
