The idea of fine dining is love. Aside from its classy look and feel it also comes with a great and best quality foods. Thus, when I get an invite from Madison’s Bistro to be one of among the few people to grace the opening and try their food first hand, I am the happiest while in the back of my mind I have the vision of steak and wine. Ha-ha.
Madison’s Bistro Moderne is located at the Ground Floor of EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, just outside the hotel premises, to be exact. As we entered in the bistro, the waiter accompanied us to our seats and upon seating our butt on the couch that connotes elegance he already offered us wine. Well, he let us chose what we preferred, I go for white wine - Chardonnay.
Chardonnay! Cheers! |
The restaurant is posh-perfect for intimate gatherings and after office get together as well. Albeit, it looks like daunting but absolutely NO. It has the classy touch and yet one can go on with a casual vibe. It makes every moment worth to be remembered and a fun fine dining experience that you will surely come back for more. An ambiance na hahanap-hanapin at babalik-balikan. Now, let’s go on with the foods that we had.
They let us to order what
we wanted. As a Filipino first-timer traits, we just simply asked for their
best sellers! On which, we don’t regret at all ‘coz we tasted the best and the
finest meal Madison’s Bistro Moderne has to offer. *clap, clap, clap*
breads and spreads |
First thing first. When eating on a fine-dining restaurant, everything is well-organized. While waiting for our appetizers, they served a complimentary breads, on which you have the freedom to choose as well, from wheat to baguette that comes with flavorful spreads.
Appetizers! |
For appetizers we had these – Speck and Goat Cheese Mousse (P580) and Crusted Blue Fin Tuna (P350).
Speck and Goat Cheese Mousse |
Speck and Goat Cheese Mousse (P580). Everyone’s favourite! It has truffle scent and apple mustard chutney. Go and get a bite and I’m sure you’ll get hooked! Ha-ha. Can you believed that Jerica and I ate all of them in less than 5 minutes? Well, that’s how it was!
Crusted Blue Fin Tuna |
Crusted Blue Fin Tuna (P350). Since I love tuna, I have to try this! It is consisted of black pepper corn, mint and mango salsa, green pea cream and granny smith apple. I love the combo! A crunchy and sumptuous bit in every bite.
Yeah, it seems like that
appetizers already took the place of the main dish. Wine please!
After resting our tummy for
a while to give space for the main dish, we let the waiter served the stars of our
night – Tri-colour Ravioli (P580), Homemade Spaghetti Chitarra with Vongole
(P480) and Dry Aged Rib Eye; 300gms (P1,680).
Tri-colour Ravioli |
Tri-colour Ravioli (P580). Ravioli is always a must, it is one of my so-many-favourites! Thus, having this on our table is mandatory. Well, when in doubt, ravioli to the rescue. (“ ,) Madison’s Bistro Moderne’s Tri-Colour Ravioli has cream cheese, quail egg, truffle oil, bacon bits and beurre noisette.
Homemade Spaghetti Chitarra with Vongole |
Homemade Spaghetti Chitarra with Vongole (P480). Topped with my favourite seafood! It has an extra virgin oil that does wonder to the dish.
Dry Aged Rib Eye |
Dry Aged Rib Eye; 300gms (P1,680). Oh my! Steak! Ha-ha. Do I need to say more? Ha-ha. The high quality meat is tender and perfectly cooked.
It was a fantastic night,
having these scrumptious and succulent foods all over your table was surely a
one fine night! But then, to cap the fine dining off, we had desserts! Yah, I also
thought that the dining was done already but these yummy creations was too good
to ignore.
Jerica and I had these
Vanilla Pana Cotta with Strawberry Consomme (P250) and Pistachio Mousse Tart
with Mascarpone Cream (P250).

What I love with the desserts were not that sweet-at-all, the delicious smells were already a hint that desserts were sinfully great. I’m already full when the desserts were served but I can’t help it, I have to finish them all, desserts-lover here. Ha-ha.
Overall experience was
superb! Can’t wait for my next visit but this time, with my friends
loves. I bet, Kae would surely love the place and of course the foods that
Jerica and I enjoyed. I would love to have lunch their anytime soon for me experience
the crowd during that time of the day, I guess it be more serene, relax and tranquil.
Of course, our first visit was an opening day so I already expected that it
would be crowded, jam packed with owner’s friends and loved ones with the presence
of the media as well.
