Because summer is not yet over, that’s why
when my friend Karla invited me on a weekend getaway to Laguna, I said YES
right away. Well, in 2015 I had a quick
visit at Mountain Lake Resort through Cavinti
Eco-Adventure Tour and knowing that I am going to stay for a night and
experience its offerings, I was ecstatic to be part of this trip despite of an
early call time.
Caliraya Spring Golf Course |
After three hours on the road via Rizal route, I was greeted with Mountain Lake Resort’s scenic view – surrounded by lush green sight, nestled beside Caliraya Lake with an astounding view of Mount Banahaw. Well, it is a living proof of “where nature meets adventure” wherein guest can enjoy the best of both worlds. So right after having a hearty breakfast, we headed to the section of the resort where the Boat Houses are located.
We stayed at the Boat House, an accommodation with a twist of floating boathouse designed for people who are looking for adventure – a nipa hut floating by the lake – just like me and my roomie Effie of theposhtravelers.com. An air-conditioned accommodation, equipped with mini fridge, TV, and where basic necessities such as bottled water and toiletries were provided. Surprisingly, I had a sound sleep and woke up with a wonderful view right in front of our queen-sized bed and just by the balcony, we’re able to do fishing.

Though, accommodation is not limited to boat house, you can have an option of Amihan Cottages, ideal for big groups as it can accommodate 4-10 persons. Rooms are non-air conditioned though but since it is using “kubo” / nipa hut, reassured that ultimate relaxation could be yours. Its location is a one-stop-spot for all outdoor activities.

In addition, Glamping Tent is also available for more relaxing and glamorous camping. By staying here, you can enjoy the night sky and do stargazing. You can opt to choose between Twin and Quad sharing and here’s more, at glamping tent, you have a mini living room – for added glam! Can’t wait to try this though.

But for a little modern and not-quite-adventurous type of lodging, you may stay at Standard Room, Deluxe Room, Superior Room or Family Room located in the Clubhouse. The Residences Hotel offers 21 rooms of various sizes and offers a 3.5 stars quality services.

Meanwhile, aside from swimming, you can also enjoy the following activities while in the resort’s vicinity, Well, I tried and did most of them so I assure you guys that these activities will definitely pump up your adrenaline and have that audacious moment of your life.

Zipline
Conquer the fear of heights by doing this activity.
A 10 stages of obstacles that provides an excitement and more likely of physical activities that would definitely test how flexible and strong you are. And oh, balance, too! This activity is way perfect for Team Building and corporate events.
Lake Cruise
Explore the surrounding of Mountain Lake Resort through cruising. Have a picturesque view of Caliraya Lake as you roam around.
Banana Boat
To boost the fun and excitement, have you and your friends ride on the banana boat. Be ready to get wet and soaked in lake water.
Bubble Soccer
And before the sun sets, we played bubble soccer. It’s fun and bouncy.
Have a “girl talk” by the Bonfire
Spent an hour or two with your girlfriends and talked anything under the stars and moon while munching on fluffy mallows or tender juicy hotdogs.
Fishing
Catch dory and friends at the fishing village and have them cooked for you. Well, nothing beats eating fresh and own caught fish at lunch, right? Glad, that we did fishing at the balcony of our boat house. Did I catch? Hmmm… I must say, it needed a lot of patience. But in any case, that I’ll be staying for 3 days or more, definitely, I could catch one or more. ha-ha.
Swing by at Caliraya Spring Golf Course
Caliraya Spring Golf Course a treat like no other, with its specially designed Arnold Palmer 18 Holes built around Caliraya Lake. Learn golf and hit that ball to the other side of the lake. Not an easy-feat though but worth a try.
At Mountain Lake Resort, it is not just a typical resort getaway, it is a great resort where you can try almost everything for the first time. There’s more to try like biking, stargazing, horseback riding, kayaking, riding a kalesa, jet ski, and more! So yeah, it is a one-stop-shop resort where you can have unforgettable experience and wonderful moments. La Cucina Restaurant is also available to satisfy your Filipino food cravings.
