When the ber months started last year – my schedule was jam-packed and hectic that I couldn’t make time for any travels in or outside Manila. Though, it was a good kind of busy due to my AirBnb biz and did some paperwork for the new business venture – tiring but fulfilling – that’s how I felt after those hard works. Moving on… my trip to Boracay was supposedly as my year-ender getaway but so busy. The universe was on my favor that time – the flight was cancelled which also means that I have an opportunity to re-book the flight and rather scheduled the trip first week of the year 2020; plus a new partnership with a newly-opened Kamusta Boutique Hotel in Boracay Island was also in the line-up (read my experience here) and with an online booking site – PhBus - also sponsored my ticket to the island (check out how I managed to have a spontaneous trip here because travel doesn’t have to be costly here).

Over the weekend trip could be also tiring if it is not being planned nor managed properly. With me having the thoughts of just relax and enjoy the beach – beach is my haven, by the way – eat ‘til my chubby cheeks pop out, and most of all – just have fun by doing nothing or enjoy the comfort of my bed. Basically, you should know what is the purpose of the trip - is it to explore or to relax; though you can have both so it really depends on your liking, So, when a friend asked me what my plans – I divulged and after that – hmm… I’m heading to one of my favorite islands with the friends.
We went to Boracay Island via ferry which had almost 12 hours travel time due to bumpy ride on our way – good thing, I don’t have any sea sickness so I just enjoy the ride and slept like a baby for straight 6 hours – just because friends had to wake me up to have coffee. It’s already night time when we checked-in at Kamusta Boutique Hotel and since it was raining – we opted to stay in our hotel room and rest which means more sleeping time for me.

The next day, we woke up early to have a breakfast at the hotel and after that, went to the white beach; a 3-min walk from the hotel, stroll around and have our favorite The Real Coffee’s Calamansi Muffin with a beach view from where we were seated for AM snack. Then, the rain pours. More chitchats and more foods while waiting for it to stop. Perks of having friends on the trip is you can entertain each other and talk about so many things about life, love, passion, dreams and whatnot (boys?).

After an hour, the rain stopped which also means we have to move – so the food trip continues. We headed to Kuya J’s restaurant for late lunch and then we decided to spend the afternoon ‘til Sunset at Puka Beach, which is 5 to 10-min Tricycle ride from Station 2. Why does the clock is ticking so fast when having fun? After taking pictures, sunbathing and swimming – the sun started to set.
Back at the hotel – the staff prepared for a sumptuous feast! Almost all their best sellers were on the table for us to indulge. And so… I gave in. Who can say “NO” to chicken adobo, buttered shrimp (my all-time favorite), eggplant salsa, and prawns in pumpkin? Well, “NO ONE”.

Though, we planned to party after dinner but it was raining again so we just bought gin and tonic water with sprite and drink in our room. The next day – I headed to Cagban Jetty Port and catch my early flight back home while the friends have an extra day to enjoy and have fun in Boracay Island.
Definitely, you can enjoy an over the weekend getaway in the island and feel relaxed after. Happy travels!
