Here I am doing the 30 Days Blogging Challenge as the title
connotes. I don’t usually watch TV or movies or something that I feel like I
would spend time unproductively. Occasionally, I gave in to indulge on those
little pleasures for me to learn, get new ideas, and by simply, reset from
distraction. And sometimes, just to relax and rest and enjoy the moment. So,
recently while browsing movies, I stumbled upon onto “Julie and Julia” on Netflix.
The film is all about the life of Chef Julia Child (Meryl Streep) in the early
years of her culinary career with the life of young and newlywed New Yorker
Julie Powell (Amy Adams). Julie aspires to cook all 524 recipes in Child’s Mastering
the Art of French Cooking cookbook in 365 days. Despite her regular job, Julie managed
to document her daily experience in cooking each recipe on her blog. Though, her
life was not all flowery and smooth sailing, she still managed to keep up with
her daily challenge. On which, I hope I could.
At first, I thought of cooking, too – since I started cooking what I craved for such as Cream Dory with Mashed Potato and stir-fry buttered vegies, French Toast, Souffle Pancakes (not yet perfect but tasted delish!), Dalgona Coffee and made
my own version of my favorite coffee drink in Starbucks and Coffee Bean &
Tea Leaf – Caramel Macchiato. So far, so good… and I’m learning to cook my own,
healthy meals at home. Yesterday, I did Tuna Pasta in Olive Oil with Tomato - it was so good that I even shared the recipe and how I cooked it on my Instagram stories.
However, I realized that – I am not updating my blog
regularly not unless I got sponsored post, or something related to that. So, I
decided that, even though cooking is therapeutic and will make me one-step
closer to my “want” of being a housewife, I should also give time to my blog and produce
contents and so – here I am doing the 30 Days Blogging Challenge. It will be random
topics that I found on Pinterest and each blog post should be at minimum of 200
words. Topics are more of personal random stuff that I don't usually share to everybody but yeah, I'm getting excited with this challenge. So, stay tuned. 😊
Day 1 of 30-Day Blog Challenge: Explain your Blog’s Name.
What’s with the blog’s name - The Daily Posh? I started with
a food blog in 2010 and named it – Bubbly Fluffy – it was then getting an
online attention that I even got invites from different brands. Aside from food,
I was invited for fashion, entertainment and almost present in every event in Metro
Manila. With that, I decided to put up another blog with a fashion slash
lifestyle niche. I first named it as Indrakshi – an Indian word that means one
having beautiful eyes. Why? When I was a kid, random people always asked me if
I’m half Indian because of my eyes. Even until now, when I met someone in
person for the first time, I am still being asked if I have a foreign blood. The answer is - I am 100% Filipino.
Moving on, after a week or two – I changed Indrakshi to The
Daily Posh because I need to have something that is catchy and somewhat
represents me – a name that I can call as my brand. I love to dress up – and
quite nitpicky (“maarte” in Tagalog) so the word “Posh” and was thinking of having
a daily OOTD. And so, boom – The Daily Posh. 😊
